About BSc in Management Information Systems
The Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems (BSc MIS) is a comprehensive undergraduate program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in the dynamic field of information systems and technology. This program integrates business, technology, and management concepts to prepare graduates for diverse roles in the digital landscape.
The MIS degree will provide the students with the educational background for pursuing an exciting career in applying computers in business and government to process data and solve a wide variety of business problems.
The computer is an important tool, which processes information for management decision-making. Managers can be more effective and efficient when assisted by computer-based information systems. The student will learn how the computer can be applied to produce information both for controlling the day-to-day operations of a business and for planning for the future of that business.
Engage in full-time study for a duration of three years, encompassing three semesters in each academic year. Further details about the course for each year can be found at the bottom of this page.
Program Learning outcome:
Upon completion of the BSc in MIS program, students will:
1. Technical Proficiency
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of information systems, databases, programming, and emerging technologies.
• Apply technical skills to analyze, design, and implement IT solutions for business challenges.
2. Business Acumen:
• Integrate business principles with information systems knowledge to address organizational needs.
• Understand the role of MIS in strategic decision-making and business processes.
3. Problem Solving and Analysis:
• Analyze complex problems and propose effective IT solutions.
• Utilize critical thinking and analytical skills to evaluate and improve information systems.
4. Communication Skills:
• Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and present findings clearly.
5. Project Management:
• Apply project management principles to plan, execute, and monitor IT projects.
• Understand project lifecycle, risk management, and resource allocation.
6. Ethical and Social Responsibility:
• Demonstrate ethical behavior in information management and technology use.
• Understand the societal impact of information systems and consider ethical implications.

• Adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends.

Requirements:
1. The applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 years of school education.
2. Certificate of High School from the Libyan Ministry of Education.
3. The applicant must have passed any one of the following English Language Proficiency Tests with a minimum score as follows:
○ 500 in TOEFL (CBT 173 – iBT 61)
○ 6.0 in IELTS for Academic .
○ SAT (evidence-reading and writing) with minimum 530
○ DUOLINGO English Test (DET) with a minimum 120 Valid English Proficiency Score is mandatory before admission
4. Applicants from any other non-Libyan educational systems must submit a verified Equivalency Certificate of their High School certificate from the Libyan Ministry of Education.
5. Note: Individuals with a high school certificate and insufficient proficiency in English, as determined by the placement test, are required to undergo a foundation year at the college. This preparatory year aims to enhance their language skills and readiness for enrollment in academic programs.

Tuition Fees:
The tuition fees amount, for the academic year of 2024/2025, is 18,000 Libyan Dinars.
