About HND in Network Engineering
The Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing (Network Engineering) is awarded by Pearson and is designed to develop applied higher education skills for modern IT and networking environments. The programme supports learners who want a clear pathway into network engineering and infrastructure-focused careers, combining core computing knowledge with specialist network pathway units and project-based learning.
Program Learning outcome:
- Networking concepts, infrastructure operations, and professional troubleshooting approaches
- Systems thinking and architecture awareness for real-world IT environments
- Cloud computing concepts and deployment considerations
- Network security principles aligned to practical risk-aware practice
- Professional practice, communication, and project delivery skills
- Applied research and reporting through Pearson-set projects
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Or the international university admission certificate (SAT, GED, Btec level3, A-level, YOS)
- The English language level must be intermediate or above (there will be a placement test.
Career Opportunities:
- Network Engineer
Design, implement, and maintain computer networks (LAN, WAN, data centers). Entry-level roles often focus on troubleshooting and support, while senior engineers handle architecture and optimization. - Network Administrator
Manage daily network operations, including monitoring performance, configuring routers/switches, and ensuring uptime. This role is more operational compared to engineering. - Cloud Networking Engineer
Work with platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to design and secure virtual networks, VPNs, and hybrid infrastructures. - Wireless Networking Engineer
Specialize in Wi-Fi, mobile networks, and emerging 5G technologies. Often employed in telecoms or large enterprises with complex wireless needs. - VoIP Engineer
Handle voice-over-IP systems, integrating telephony with data networks for businesses. - Network Project Manager
Oversee large-scale network deployments, upgrades, or migrations. Requires both technical knowledge and management skills. - Freelance/Remote Network Engineer
Increasingly popular, especially for troubleshooting, consulting, and cloud-based projects. Offers flexibility and global opportunities.
Tuition Fees:
